Avengers: Endgame is all the talk in the movie business these days. Jeff Huber, senior vice president of commerce and local at Google, posted on Google+ last night that the Street View team built a Street View exhibit at the Computer History Museum. Cool. Of more interest to Apple users: Huber took to the comments to answer some questions for an iOS user. He said Google looks forward to providing “Amazing Google Maps experiences on iOS.” That does not sound like a web app or anything like Google now offers in its Google Earth app or its Latitude app....

While we expect a ton of businesses to soon start integrating iOS 6’s Passbook feature for storing boarding passes, loyalty cards, coupons, etc., it appears one airline has already done so. Australian Business Traveler reported that a reader was recently able to load a boarding pass into Passbook while checking in to a Virgin Australia flight by simply using his iPhone running iOS 6: Interestingly, this popup message is not actually coming from iOS itself, but rather from the airline’s website, which has detected iOS 6 as the phone’s operating system....

Samsung showed off its new Galaxy Fold this week – a two thousand dollar foldable smartphone due to go on sale in April. While it’s more of a proof-of-concept product than anything most people would want to buy, it inevitably raised questions about when Apple would launch a folding iPhone. Goldman Sachs described the Galaxy Fold as ‘the main potential challenge‘ for Apple, and suggested that even if the Cupertino company wants to make a folding iPhone, it may struggle to do so …...

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is set to finish later next year, but with Marvel Studios already looking to the future, there’s no doubt there may be some plans already in place for Daisy, FitzSimmons, Coulson, Mack, Yo-Yo and the rest of the gang. The show has gone from success to success becoming one of the most beloved superhero shows on TV today. With so much time and energy having been put into these phenomenal characters, it would be a shame to lose them completely....

American Airlines has started to give frontline employees new iPhone 12 devices and seventh-generation iPads, according to a memo shared by CIO Maya Leibman. As shared by View From the Wing last week, American Airlines’ chief information officer Maya Leibman said the company is replacing current mobile devices for all frontline employees as well as maintenance workers with new Apple mobile devices. According to the memo shared by the site, American Airlines will be giving iPhone 12s to airport agents at DCA and seventh-generation iPads to AMTs in Line Maintenance workers....

While American Horror Story reinvents itself every season, one thing stays the same - Evan Peters always has a role, until now. The actor has appeared in Ryan Murphy’s horror anthology since the series began in 2011. The ninth season, American Horror Story: 1984, debuts in September, although it will mark the first installment without Peters. Peters has been a prominent cast member in AHS since the show was first introduced....

There are growing reports of an AirPods Max battery drain problem on the Apple Support Forums, Reddit, and elsewhere. Some owners are reporting that their headphone battery is draining from 100% to 1% or 0% overnight, even when left inside the official Apple case designed to drop them quickly into ultra-low power mode. Others are reporting drain not quite in the same league, but still dramatically higher than would be expected …...

As for current HomeKit enabled smart cameras, options are pretty limited. Logitech’s Circle 2, D-Link’s Omni (review), and Netgear’s Arlo Baby Camera (review) are some of the top picks. Last summer, Ring announced new external security cameras including solar-powered options. Last October it unveiled its Protect home security system (not yet available). These joined the highly popular Ring doorbell among other smart products. HomeKit is definitely still in the works. India’s telecom regulator, TRAI, earlier this year threatened to ban iPhones in the country if Apple didn’t approve a government-developed Do Not Disturb app by January of 2019. According to an Apple spokesperson in India (via VentureBeat), Apple has approved such an app and it is now available as of today on the App Store. Named TRAI DND – Do Not Disturb, the app attempts to help Indian customers avoid unwanted phone calls and text messages, which has been an issue for a while within the country....
