With the iPhone 6s/Plus offering the ability to shoot 4K video, and the new 4K 21.5-inch iMac out today, Apple is bringing iMovie for Mac up-to-date with support for 4K footage.

Apple updated the iOS version of iMovie with 4K support shortly before the release of the iPhone 6s. The latest Mac version also allows you to import movies from the iOS app to continue editing them on your Mac. Minor additional improvements include 10 additional filters borrowed from the iOS app.

This means that all Apple’s video editing apps – iMovie on iOS and OS X, and Final Cut Pro on the Mac – now allow you to create ultra-HD masterpieces.

The updated app should be rolling out across the course of the day.

Thanks, Kenny
