As it has done in the past with other products, Apple has recently started sending surveys to iMac Pro users. The survey asks customers about why they purchased the machine, features they like and dislike, and more. They survey of iMac Pro customers comes ahead of the release of a new Mac Pro in 2019. The survey was first shared on Twitter by user @afwaller. As with pervious surveys sent to customers, the iMac Pro survey includes a series of checkboxes highlighting features of the machine....

Apple’s iOS software head honcho Scott Forstall only briefly described it during the keynote talk: Sounds pretty cool and here’s a video of AirPlay Mirroring in action. The iOS 5 features page on Apple’s site describes AirPlay Mirroring in greater detail: “AirPlay now supports video mirroring”, the company writes, noting that you can “wirelessly — and securely — stream whatever’s on your iPad 2 to your HDTV via Apple TV”....

Adobe is taking its document strategy to the cloud with its latest service. Taking the same approach as its Creative Cloud Suite of apps for creators, Adobe is revealing its new Document Cloud service alongside two new apps for iOS: Acrobat Mobile and Fill & Sign. The new service aims to make handling PDFs and other documents much more flexible, and the new iOS apps can bring paper documents into the Adobe Document Cloud for work on the go…...

Disney+ has a lot to offer fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but actress Adrianne Palicki is hoping for one more thing: a series based on her character, Mockingbird. Palicki first played Mockingbird/Bobbi Morse on ABC’s long-running series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. She joined the cast in season 2 episode 5, soon after co-star Nick Blood. Blood played Lance Hunter, Bobbi’s ex-husband and fellow member of S.H.I.E.L.D. The two were quickly promoted to series regulars, with fans enjoying both their characters and their chemistry together....

TUAW points out (and MacRumors concurs) that several US Apple Stores are experiencing constrained supplies of AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule wireless gadgets. Multiple sources tell MacRumors those products have been in short supplies at several locations, with “sales reps indicating that no new shipments appeared to be planned”. Following up on a successful donation campaign last year, the developer behind the highly popular iOS Reddit app Apollo is again giving 100% of proceeds from Saturday’s sales to the SPCA animal shelter. The campaign comes during an important busy season for shelters. Last year on July 20, Apollo for Reddit’s developer, Christian Selig, decided to donate all of the proceeds from the app’s sales to his local SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) shelter in Nova Scotia....

Affinity Publisher is an upcoming desktop publishing app that many are hoping will serve as legitimate Adobe InDesign alternative, much like sister apps Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer have served as viable alternatives to Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Lost amid the shuffle of today’s release of Designer for iPad, developer Serif says that the Publisher beta will arrive before the end of August. Serif notes that Affinity Publisher is the third and final cog of its plan to shake up the traditional creative app industry....
