Today, Thunderbolt 3 peripheral specialist Akitio announced a new partnership with Intel that has resulted in a special edition version of the Akitio Node PCIe box. The collaboration sees Intel contributing its just-released Optane 905P, a 960GB PCIe SSD — the current king of SSDs from a speed perspective — to the fire engine red Thunderbolt 3 enclosure. The end result is an extremely speedy external PCIe drive that’s capable of up to 2200MB/s in both read and write, plenty fast enough for high quality, high-resolution video workflows on apps like Final Cut Pro X, DaVinci Resolve, and Adobe Premiere Pro....

Security researches from Chinese company Alibaba claim to have successfully jalibroken the iPhone X running iOS 11.2.1. In a blog post, the researchers explained that they were originally able to successfully jailbreak iOS 11.2, the same jailbreak is also applicable to iOS 11.2.1, which was released just this week… The announcement is somewhat bizarre as Song Yang, head of Alibaba’s Secure Pandora Labs, calls the jailbreak “perfect” and “different” from other recent jailbreaks....

Specs of what appears to be an unannounced, refreshed MacBook Air have surfaced via screenshots posted to Chinese forums Feng.com. The images show system specs for a 13-inch “MacBookAir7,2” with similar internals to the existing model but with a couple upgrades. A new Intel Broadwell Core 1.6GHz i5-5250U processor and Intel HD Graphics 6000 shown in the images would be an upgrade from the 1.4GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 and Intel HD Graphics 5000 shipping in the current 13-inch MacBook....
