A producer of Alita: Battle Angel is asking fans to tell Disney that they want a sequel. Battle Angel Alita was a popular manga series that ran for five years, starting in 1990. Just this year, the film was adapted for a feature-length film directed by Robert Rodriguez and starring Rosa Salazar as the titular character Alita. An adaptation of Battle Angel Alita had been in development since the early 2000s, with James Cameron originally planning on directing the film....

Just one day after Apple Pay went live in Poland, the mobile wallet service has today been rolled out in Norway. Three banks support the service at launch … Readers report that Apple Pay has gone live with Nordea, Santander and Sbanken, with Tek.no confirming. Tim Cook promised during last month’s Q2 earnings report that Apple Pay would be launching in Norway, Poland and Ukraine ‘in the coming months.’ The service expanded to Ukraine later the same month....

Alabama state representative Patricia Todd announced today that her upcoming anti-discrimination bill will be named after Tim Cook. Todd plans to introduce the bill, which would prevent the government from discriminating in its hiring practices based on points such as sexual orientation, in March. Initially Todd received pushback from Apple on the naming of the bill, with Apple saying that Cook would probably not want his named attached to a sensitive piece of legislation....

Disney’s CinemaCon presentation included updates and teasers for many upcoming movies - including a five-minute clip from Aladdin in which our hero enters the Cave of Wonders and meets Will Smith’s Genie. Directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott as young lovebirds Aladdin and Princess Jasmine, Aladdin is the latest live-action remake of Disney’s animated classics, with The Lion King also still to come this year....

In November, the Justice Department said the 22-year-old was behind the July 2021 ransomware attack against Kaseya, which crippled hundreds of companies around the world for days. CyberScoop reported in November that Vasinskyi was arrested at a border crossing in Dorohusk – a Polish-Ukrainian border town – on October 8. Vasinskyi made his first appearance and was arraigned today in the Northern District of Texas. “When last year I announced charges against members of the Sodinokibi/REvil ransomware group, I made clear that the Justice Department will spare no resource in identifying and bringing to justice transnational cybercriminals who target the American people,” said Attorney General Merrick Garland....

Following the on-off-on-again acquisition of display-maker Sharp by Foxconn, the company has announced that 12 of the 13 board members – including CEO Kozo Takahashi – will step down once the takeover process is complete. The WSJ reports that the announcement follows deepening losses at the company. Sharp was one of a number of Apple suppliers to be hit by the decline in iPhone sales, though in Sharp’s case the slowdown merely added to its existing difficulties....

Set in the Second Age, The Lord of the Rings is set to tell an all-new adventure in the world created by J.R.R. Tolkien’s novels. It’ll hail from showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, and has been making some big announcements lately. The series cast Markelle Kavenagh as a character named Tyra, and recently tapped Will Poulter to take on an undisclosed lead role. They are the only two cast members for the series at this point, but it was also reported who’ll first direct them....

American Horror Story: 1984 introduced Mr. Jingles in its premiere episode and provided a few details into his deadly past. The serial killer, played by AHS veteran John Carroll Lynch, is at the focus of the slasher-themed season. After being locked away for over a decade, Mr. Jingles made his way back to the site of his first massacre, Camp Redwood. Xavier (Cody Fern) got a job as a counselor at Camp Redwood for the summer and he convinced his friends to come along since the camp was desperate for employees....

The first reactions for Disney’s live-action Aladdin remake are in and they’re surprisingly positive. Disney has released plenty of reimaginings of their classic animated movies over the last several years, and they have largely been successful. Fans of the original films have been excited to see the stories and characters in a new light in the past, but Aladdin has been a difficult movie to properly gauge interest in. While there is certainly a built-in audience for the movie, it has also had one of the more controversial developmental cycles for Disney’s remakes....

Ridley Scott’s franchise bridging horror-sci-fi is now only a month away from its May 19 release, so the dark and menacing marketing is sure to start ramping up, with details slowly emerging about how the new film links to both Prometheus and the original 1979 Alien....

As we’ve reported in the past, Apple is expected to introduce a new 9.7-inch iPad Pro at an event later this month, and now we’ve seen the first alleged case made for the device. Nowhereelse.fr on Twitter has found a pair of cases supposedly made for the iPad Pro 9.7-inch that fall in line with reports that the device will feature Smart Connector support, camera flash, and more. We reported last month that instead of an iPad Air 3, Apple will introduce a smaller iPad Pro with Smart Keyboard support and Apple Pencil capabilities....

Adobe is definitely on a roll these days. Just in the past thirty days the company unveiled an iWeb-like tool for building web sites and a PDF-creation app for iPhone and iPad. Earlier today, Adobe announced its Digital Publishing Suite will get the much-needed iOS 5 Newsstand support and now we learn about Adobe Carousel, a missing link aimed at fans of the company’s integrated photography solutions. The program lets you access your entire photo library on your computer from any iOS device and vice versa....

Afterparty is filled with irritating characters and over-written dialog sections interspersed with drinking games and questionable moral choices. Afterparty isn’t as clever as it thinks it is. That’s a shame, too, because the concept of the game is immediately intriguing, but unfortunately it quickly becomes bogged down with overly-written, unnecessarily vulgar plot dumps and a number of persistently irritating characters. While the game does offer branching story paths and an honest portrayal of alcoholism, those things alone aren’t enough to pull the whole picture into proper focus....
