FireCore has just announced an update to the Remote HD application for iOS devices on the App Store and a new application available through an Apple TV jailbreak extras menu. The two applications work together to allow you to stream video from your iPhone, video from iTunes, and video from YouTube and supported 3rd party apps to the original Apple TV. You need to install the AppleTV jailbreak we previously reported on and the Remote HD application for iOS costs $3....

A plot synopsis has surfaced for the upcoming live-action Akira and it’s very different from the plot of original manga and anime on which the movie is based. Both the original Akira manga as well as the 1988 anime adaptation are set in a futuristic, cyberpunk Neo-Tokyo and follow Shōtarō Kaneda as he tries to rescue his childhood friend, Tetsuo Shima, from a secret government project. Warner Bros.’ live-action Akira film is finally entering into production after being in development for a little over a decade....

In Prometheus, not only did we learn that the Engineers were responsible for seeding Earth with human life, we also found out that the same Engineers wanted to turn around and wipe out humanity for some mysterious reason. At the movie’s end, the crew of the Prometheus was able to stop the Engineers’ ship from carrying out its mission to bomb the planet with pods full of murderous black goo. Android David (Michael Fassbender) was decapitated by the last Engineer, but survived to accompany Shaw (Noomi Rapace) on a mission to find the Engineers’ home world and learn their secrets....

Adobe today quietly released Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10, bringing with them new Facebook and YouTube integration, video editing and burring features, object-based search, and new color correcting and text curving and flowing effects. New Facebook features allow you to auto analyze your images to identify people and tag them based on your Facebook friends. Those tags are then carried over to Facebook when uploading from Elements. A new object-based search is one of the most impressive enhancements, allowing you to find images containing a particular object such as a house or vehicle....

21 of Australia’s 22 Apple Stores will reopen on May 7 at 10:00 a.m. following extended closures due to the coronavirus pandemic. Apple has been cautiously reopening stores around the world as local conditions permit. In an interview last week, Tim Cook noted that stores in Austria and Australia would reopen within 1-2 weeks, but did not specify exact dates.
