Simon Cowell’s company has spoken out after Gabrielle Union’s unexpected firing from America’s Got Talent. The former host had a litany of complaints that weren’t initially reported when news of her termination was first announced. Union lost her job on America’s Got Talent after one season due to what’s been described as a toxic work environment. Details of what Union allegedly endured have finally surfaced. She took issue with Cowell’s indoor cigarette smoking in her presence (problematic because she’s allergic and it’s illegal), repeated and culturally insensitive notes about her afrocentric hairstyles, and also the inappropriate comment Jay Leno supposedly made about the Asian community....

American Gods actor Ricky Whittle and production company Fremantle respond to allegations involving the firing of actor Orlando Jones from season 3 of the series. Over the weekend, Jones revealed he’d been fired from American Gods season 3 on social media and included accusations that the firing was the result of his character, Anansi, sending the wrong message to blacks. In American Gods, Anansi is an African god who occasionally gives in to passionate and angry monologues about the black experience....

Adobe is showing off a new feature coming to the next big version of Photoshop CC called content-aware crop. In the video demo below, Adobe gives the example of cropping a photo of a child by straightening the horizon in the shot, but doing so cuts off the lifeguard sign behind the child. Content-aware crop solves this problem… A standard crop that would include both the boy and the sign would include white spaces not captured in the shot, but context-aware crop uses Photoshop intelligence to artificially fill in the white space with scenery after the shot was taken....
